RV Camping & Hookups
San Elijo State Beach has 27 RV hookup sites with power, water and sewer: 9 on the ocean side at $95 a night and 18 inland at $75. The catch is length. Motorhomes and trailers on hookup sites are limited to 24 feet, while non-hookup sites take rigs up to 35 feet. A dump station is open to all campers for $10.

Length Limits
California State Parks sets two limits at San Elijo:
- 24 feet for motorhomes and trailers on hookup sites
- 35 feet for motorhomes and trailers on non-hookup sites
If your rig is between 25 and 35 feet, you can still camp here, but on a site without hookups. Day visitors note that the North Day Use lot does not allow vehicles over 25 feet long or 9 feet wide.
Hookup Site Rules
- Hookups include power, water and sewer.
- Two licensed vehicles at most per hookup site, and only one RV (motorhome, trailer or van) may use the utilities.
- All wheels of all vehicles stay on the pavement.
- Park out of the roadway, behind the site number, so emergency vehicles can pass.

Dump Station
Since April 1, 2018, the dump station costs $10 a use. It is a self-pay station run with Sani-Star, which takes credit and debit cards at the machine. Campers on sewer hookup sites have already paid for sewer in the site fee. The San Diego Coast District charges the same fee at South Carlsbad, San Elijo and Silver Strand State Beaches.
Generators and Noise
Generators may run only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and radios and other devices must not be heard beyond your site at any hour.
Rent a Trailer Delivered to Your Site
No RV? California State Parks allows three approved companies to deliver and set up a trailer on your San Elijo site. No other RV vendors may deliver into the campground.

No Repairs in the Park
The posted order bans vehicle maintenance, repair and washing in the park, including oil changes and brake work. Only a vehicle disabled in the park may get the repairs needed to move it out safely.
