Reading the Map

The park road runs the length of the campground and separates the ocean (premium) sites from the inland sites. Ocean sites look over the beach from the bluff and have stairs down to the sand nearby. California State Parks warns that ocean sites have no shade, so bring your own.

Hookup sites have power, water and sewer. Motorhomes and trailers on hookup sites are limited to 24 feet, against 35 feet on non-hookup sites. Check the length before you book a hookup site for a bigger rig. See RV camping.

Accessible sites are fully or partly paved and may have limited room for a tent. To reserve one you need a valid DMV disabled placard or plate and its ID card. See accessibility.

Which Sites Are Best?

That depends on what you want. Ocean sites cost more and give you the view and the shortest walk to the stairs, but no shade. Inland sites cost $20 less a night. Hookup sites are the only ones with power. The North Day Use lot sits just north of the campground and takes overflow vehicles.
