Group and Hike-and-Bike at a Glance
Grunion Run Group Campsite
The Grunion Run site holds up to 40 people and 10 vehicles, all included in the price. Only two of those vehicles, whether an RV, trailer, camper, van or car, may drive into or park inside the group site; the rest use the parking area next to it. The site comes with:
- 6 picnic tables
- 1 fire pit and 1 barbecue
- 1 hookup (50 amp) with water and sewer. California State Parks notes you need an extra-long sewer hose to reach the dump connection in the site.
Price: $520 a night. Book: ReserveCalifornia.com or 1-800-444-7275.
Getting in: the group site is a pull-through. Enter through the gate heading north in the campground. Camping is allowed only inside the fenced group area, not in the parking area, and no one may sleep in vehicles outside the fence.
Large Groups and Events
The park's posted order requires a Special Event or concession permit for any group of more than 25 people, organized groups meeting on park land, and anyone filming or photographing for pay. Campsites themselves are capped at eight people and are meant for one family; large groups may need a special event permit.
The San Elijo campfire center can be rented for group events, with restrictions and fees. Ask the San Diego Coast District's special events office: sd.specialevents@parks.ca.gov.

The campground map shows the hike-and-bike site as site 94.
